Ms. Luo is your reliable gemologist and independent jewelry appraiser in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, specializing in the identification & appraising of Fei Cui (翡翠, including jadeite jade, Omphacite jade, Kosmochlor jade), gemstones, diamonds, and fine jewelry. With credentials as a GIA Graduate Gemologist and an AGA Accredited Senior Gemologist, she is also the Education Committee and Candidate Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) in the Gems & Jewelry Discipline. Her expertise and dedication were recognized when she received the 2024 ASA Rising Star Award.
Ms. Luo had been a researcher and instructor in Gemological Institute, China University of Geoscience, Wuhan (CUG) for around 7 years. Her research focused on the origin study of modern and ancient jade. She was invited to give an oral presentation on 2018 GIA International Symposium, Carlsbad, about how to use trace elements data and machine learning tools to classify green jade. Her research result about “Origin Determination of Dolomite-Related White Nephrite through Iterative-Binary Linear Discriminant Analysis”, was published on Gem & Gemology, Fall, 2015.
Zemin Luo's appraisal reports are widely accepted by insurance companies, and she is a Qualified Appraiser under IRS Guidelines. Her clients include private jewelry owners, insurance companies, fiduciaries, estate attorneys, and retailers.
